What is the difference between sport clubs and intramurals?
Intramural activities are short-term competitions among Alabama students, faculty, and staff. Sport Clubs are for students who want to enjoy a longer relationship (usually both semesters). Sport clubs' practices, meetings, competitions and fundraisers are led by club officers and club members. Sport clubs practice multiple times per week and many travel to compete against other schools' sport club teams. Intramurals consist of Alabama students, faculty and staff that compete against each other in organized leagues and tournaments within the Alabama community on a more recreational level.

Are there fees to participate in club baseball?
Fundraising is an integral and necessary part of club baseball. The club will work hard to fundraise and minimize out-of-pocket expenses for members. Membership dues for the season will range from $300-500 for players. As a club sport funded mainly by the University Recreation Office, these dues are essential for purchasing uniforms and equipment, among other resources.
Does club baseball have try-outs?
Yes, try-outs are held in the fall (We do not hold Spring tryouts). They consist of a two day tryout held over a weekend. The tryout includes a pro style workout, a BP and bullpen session, and a simulated scrimmage. We intend on scheduling tryouts at a time that doesn't interfere with Alabama football. Tryouts for the 2023-2024 School year will take place September 16-17, 2023. Please visit our Instagram for info and email [email protected] with any additional questions. There is a $25 fee (payable cash, venmo, cashapp, paypal, check) to tryout.
Why should I join the University of Alabama Club Baseball Team?
There are several reasons. Club baseball allows you to continue playing the game without the time commitment required by NCAA-level competition. You will develop close friendships with teammates and travel across the region, and even the nation, to compete and to represent the University. The team will participate in community service events and members will have the opportunity to assume leadership roles, both of which are excellent additions to a resume.
Will my work schedule conflict with practices or games?
Many members have jobs, some are involved in greek life, and many are involved in other clubs on campus. After tryouts, players will submit their class and work schedules to the officers and practices will be scheduled accordingly. Players are expected to make every effort to attend practice and to communicate with the officers in advance if they are unable to do so. Almost all games will be played on weekends in the spring, so conflicts should rarely occur.
